No subscription. When we ship something genuinely new, a major-version upgrade is offered as a separate purchase — you decide if it's worth it. What happens when the trial ends?
Nothing is deleted, held hostage, or uploaded. The app becomes read-only — open it, see everything you entered, export it in full — but you can’t add or edit further until you buy a license. Buying restores everything exactly as you left it.
If my data is only on my machine, what if my laptop dies?
AJR Nexus writes an automatic local backup on every launch, with one-click restore. Those live on the same drive, though — copy your data folder somewhere else too, an external drive or your own cloud folder, the same way you’d back up anything else that matters.
Can you recover my master password if I forget it?
No — and any vendor who says they can is telling you they hold your key. Your recovery key, shown once at vault creation, is the designed path back in.
Do I have to connect my bank?
No — and you can’t, even if you wanted to. AJR Nexus never asks for banking credentials. Download a statement from your bank’s own website and the guided import mapper reads it, matches the columns automatically, and learns your categories from your own history.
Can I get my data out?
Always. Standard SQLite database, plain Markdown notes, and CSV/PDF exports on every report. No proprietary format, no export fee.
Do I have to pay every year?
No. $349 once, and the version you bought keeps working, indefinitely, with no subscription. If we ship a genuinely new major version later, buying the upgrade is optional — you decide if it’s worth it.
